Plastic 734* is a site-specific work that I created especially for Voorhout Monumentaal from red, orange and pink plastic waste. All the material used comes from The Hague. No less than 75% of it was collected by me in the first months of 2025**, the remaining 25% comes from my studio stock, including the pink/orange Floating Cities.
The choice of colours forms a powerful contrast with the green of the surrounding trees.
Plastic is both a symptom and a symbol of our consumer society. It is cheap, ubiquitous and often thoughtlessly discarded.
With my work, I am making an appeal: buy less. Everything we buy will sooner or later become waste.
